Probably the best such app on the Mac, Awaken is as good as an alarm clock app as youll find for your iOS device without overdoing it on feature creep. As another user mentioned, syncing alarms with the Mac version of the app would be a nice feature, but hardly a show-stopper. For those who who have been concerned about alarm bugs, as many earlier reviews have harped on, they all appear to be fixed from my experience using this app.

I was hesitant to buy this alarm clock due to low ratings despite its good looks and what appeared excellent set of features. But after buying a handful of highly rated ones only to end up disappointed, I decided to ignore the ratings and gave it a try. Three weeks later, I can say this is one of the best alarm clock apps there is ... it certainly is one of the best I have tried. Awaken doesnt sport features beyond what a good alarm clock/sleep timer should be. Its not overly done, and thats a good thing. it is just what it needs to be ... a simple, reliable alarm clock with a beautiful UI. I hope the developer doesnt get the virus that seems to cause them all to build weather features into alarm apps. No need to do that.

Not a very good app compare to others (Clock Pro HD) Missing Timer, a little complicated to do basic features. Ugly icon too. Dont know why its a staff favorite?! Wish they just make a clock app like the iPhone.

Just what I have been looking for. Classic LCD and flip clock themes, easy brightness adjustment, uses songs with adjustable fade in, and has easy to use snooze and off features. Wouldnt mind if it showed local temp but still 5 stars.

I love the design of this app. I would love it ten times more if I could wake up to ringtones or music while the app is running in the background with the screen locked. I dont know how this is not possible on this app when the default clock app can achieve this.

The snooze function does not work properly under iOS 4.3. It looks like it is counting down correctly, but the alarm never goes off at the end of the snooze period. I have tried to contact the company twice concerning this, but they have not bothered to reply. If you depend on the snooze function of an alarm clock, look elsewhere. Note that this app has not been updated since December 2010.

Only thing i found disappointing with this app is that your ringer must be ON during the night... NOT ON SILENT which can at times be disruptive with the amount of emails and notifications i receive during sleep hours. If that was fixed would give a super A+

Only problem Ive seen so far is that you need to have the app open for music to play. You can still lock your phone, you just need to Ive the app be the last thing open when you lock the screen. One review below says you must not have your phone on silent. This is not true, at least for using music as your alarm. One UI quirk I found: I expected some UI in the app to "Slide to turn off alarm", but thats not how they implemented it. Rather, to stop the alarm, you exit the app with the Home button.

Nice alarm sound options and/or music from your iPod app. set recurring alarms - i have one for weekdays, one for weekends, and one i change as needed but you can have many more. Worth the $ for sure. Hasnt failed me yet and Ive been using it for 6 months every week day. :-)

I have Awaken on my Mac and its been very reliable in getting me up to the beat of my own music. So I was glad that the app was on iPad and iPhone. But, like others, I yearned for the ability to close the app, but still have the alarm set to whatever volume I wanted and be able to have it working whenever. Unfortunately, thanks to Apples restrictions on background apps, this cant happen with Awaken. But fix that problem, and this app cant get any better.

There are a lot of issues with this application. If you need something to wake you up, make sure you do not depend on this application to do it. The only way the alarm appears to work is if you are in the application. The "sleep" feature is nice and that fades out a playlist. Unless it was free, I would not buy. My Partner has been using this alarm. It is NOT working properly for iOS5!

I love the Mac version, but this seems shoddy. Even when I leave the app on overnight, music actually only plays less than half the time. I always set an iPhone alarm to go off 5 minutes later and it looks like Ill never be able to stop since I dont trust this app at all.

Tried the lite version. Worked fine. Bought the full version. Completely unreliable. Set the alarm to music, an alarm sound goes off. Set the alarm to not go off over Thanksgiving, it still goes off in the morning. Nothing more annoying than a unreliable alarm clock.

This app is NOT, I repeat, NOT dependable. If anyone calls or sends a text message, this alarm will no longer function. DO NOT waste your time. Any attempts to contact the vendor have gone unanswered. Again, perfect app for NEGATIVE stars.

This app dont deserve a dime!! Use other

This app is clearly no longer supported by the developers and needs to be removed from the app store. When it worked the app worked well. However that was several months ago. Now the app is completely unreliable when using the current OS.

I have to say that until OS 5 this was the best and most reliable alarm app I had tried (and I tried a lot). Regardless of Notification settings, the app can no longer be relied on to trigger when it should. Last update was in December of 2010, and I believe the current focus of the developer is on other projects. Sorry to have to look for a replacement now.

I used this app everyday for an alarm clock next to my bed, it was on my home screen. A beautiful clock with a lot customization. Now it doesnt work. Can I get my $ back please?

… until it just stopped to play wake up tunes. Now, sadly, I have to look elsewhere.
